FAQ's

1. What is the GATE/ASET Test? Is there a difference?

The GATE/ASET Test is specifically designed to assess the aptitudes of students who wish to enter the gifted and talented programs at selective schools. This comprehensive examination evaluates four key areas: reading comprehension, writing, abstract reasoning, and quantitative reasoning. The testing occurs annually in early March for students in Year 6, with results typically announced between late May and early June. The GATE and ASET refer to the same test.

2. Is the GATE test difficult?

The difficulty of the GATE test arises from its competitive nature rather than the complexity of the material. It is not a test of intelligence; it evaluates a student's preparation and their grasp of both English and mathematical concepts. Effective preparation, with practice with an understanding of the test's format is key to achieving success.

3. When is the best time to start GATE preparation?

For the GATE test, early preparation is crucial. We recommend starting preparation as soon as possible. Beginning early allows ample time for your child to develop the necessary skills and familiarity with the test format. Given the competitive nature of the GATE/ASET test, proactive preparation significantly enhances your child's chances of success.
